Google has unveiled its new service to aid searchers who are looking for specific requests in their local area. If you type in the word restaurant or pub then Google will automatically try to predict where you live and give you the best results for your area.

This service was brought about by the fact that the most people searching were not inserting the location when posting a search query, just inserting “restaurant” and not “restaurants in London” for example

The answers are achieved by matching your IP address to a broad geographical location. If this happens to be incorrect then Google assures that you can hit the “change location” button to put in the right location and then proceed from there.

The service will also search for specific businesses and locations that you are searching for. If there is a particular café you are after just enter the name into the search box and it will provide the map and address as per normal.

Google are hoping that it will make things a little bit easier when searching for places to go.
