LookGoodForLess.co.uk is an internet shopping site where you can buy health and beauty products from high street brands Yardley of London and Woods of Windsor. It offers the chance to purchase products that are coming to the end of a season or special priced items that may be being re-branded.


The Problem
Two popular brands from the health and beauty market, Yardley of London and Woods of Windsor were looking to create a website where they could maintain a high customer base during the credit crunch and beyond. They were also looking for an opportunity to sell lines coming to the end of their season whilst being able to give savings back to their regular customers without losing any of their reputations in the process.

Both the Yardley and Woods of Windsor brands are firmly established in the health and beauty market in the UK and had realised that with the credit crunch affecting consumers spending habits, they needed to find new ways of maintaining sales figures.

The brands were looking for a company that could produce a high quality website that could maintain their image and help to attract the website traffic that would record high sales figures from established and new markets. They were looking to promote the idea that the site was a good opportunity to purchase an everyday treat as well as a gift for a special occasion at an excellent price.

The Solution
White Hat Media were asked to come up with a website design that would enhance the brands image as well as create a simple to use home shopping site.

Using a traditional design the site aimed to make the user experience resemble a traditional department store rather than a cheap discount shop. The site has a clean and crisp style that has easy to follow directions, important if some of the recognized market were not too familiar with shopping on the internet.

A unique “going, going, gone” section was added to the site to inform customers of a popular product that would be selling out and how many remained in stock.

The White Hat Media technical team have built the site with open source technology which allows for rapid application development and fully featured content management systems. Together this makes it very simple for the client to update their own products and to chart all orders.

To help drive traffic to the site White Hat Media are heavily involved in the promotion and marketing of the site and have used aspects of social media optimisation and Analytics to drive the publicity of the site forward.
