Web 2.0

A phrase used to describe the next generation of internet services and usage patterns. Web 2.0 includes services such as social networking sites, wikis and communication tools.

The aim of these services is to encourage sharing and creativity between web users. Where traditional websites just allow the user to view their content Web 2.0 is about the user getting involved. The term does not relate to any updates in technology specifications just the way developers and users use the web.

White Hat SEO

White Hat SEO is the process of following regulations and methods of legitimate and ethical SEO. The companies that work inside these guidelines are considered to be White Hat, the companies that don’t are considered to be Black Hat.

Following white hat procedures is more likely to ensure results that last a long time as the search engine companies favour their own techniques. This will mean exercising some patience but will be worth it in the long run. Following white hat guidelines is imperative if you want your company to remain at the top of the search rankings.
